CONTENT LONDON: UK streamer ITVX, Cosmote TV and Star Channel in Greece, and Movies Best HD in Cyprus have pre-bought So Long, Marianne, the international drama about the relationship between Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen and his muse Marianne.
The project is a coproduction commissioned by Norway’s NRK and Bell Media-owned Canadian streamer Crave, with Cineflix Rights handling international distribution. The latter also announced on Wednesday that ARD’s Fabfiction (NDR, SWR, WDR, Germany) has boarded the project as a coproducer.
So Long, Marianne is produced by Redpoint Productions, Tanweer Productions and C3 Media, developed by Ingeborg Klyve (Exit), Øystein Karlsen (Exit, Dag, Lilyhammer) and Tony Wood (Irvine Welsh’s Crime, Marcella) and written for the screen by Øystein Karlsen and Jo Nesbø (Harry Hole, Kingdom, Headhunters).
Announced at Content London this week, the pre-sale to ITVX was brokered by Buccaneer, while Tanweer Productions negotiated the pre-sales to Cosmote TV, Star Channel and Movies Best HD. The deal with Fabfiction was negotiated by Nadcon Film.
